This
Portland-based company had been receiving their web-based shopping cart
orders via email and then cut/ pasting them into a database on their
office computer when we met them. As their business grew, this was quite
a lot of the old roll-click-roll and wrists were getting sore.
They asked us to help them to stop all of the senseless cutting (and pasting),
but stay within a fixed budget. Their office database resided on an elderly Mac,
so the technical challenges were a'plenty. We finally settled on an open source
shopping cart technology called OSCommerce.
An amazingly versatile e-commerce solution, OSCommerce is not designed for beauty,
so we set to work at moulding the default look into something that would complement
GladRags good name, marrying the functionality of the site with a modern aesthetic
that would invite women to try their alternative menstrual products and simplify/
enhance the shopping experience.
